The Aftermath of Devastation – Old Vereeniging Hospital burns to the ground
Leeuhof community is reaching out and helping the victims of a fire.

A black cloud of black smoke greeted the residents of the old Vereeniging Hospital on 11 June 2022. Residents scrambled for their belongings while the building burned to the ground. Some managed to save some of their belongings. Others came home in the afternoon to find that their safe haven was in ruins, with nothing left. It is a disaster. They are now victims of an unfortunate event, which leaves them with only the clothes on their backs, no food, no blankets, and not even a toothbrush.

The  Community stepped in and helped. Leeuhof made their Community Hall, available for them to sleep in, with two tents on the outside of the Hall. There are currently 51 families. Leeuhof residents gave a gas stove to cook the food on. They are struggling to survive, but there are good Samaritans helping each day to feed the hungry and desolate. Although they lost everything, there is still hope.

Any contributions would be greatly appreciated, to help these families to get back on their feet.  Please phone us on 082 591 8523 or email cacbaden@gmail.com to extent a helping hand for those in need.
