Gauteng MEC for Education, Sport, Arts, Culture & Recreation, Mr Matome Chiloane, wishes to inform the public of the first Monkeypox case at a Gauteng public school, which was reported on Tuesday, 16 July 2024.
In a startling discovery on Monday morning, a farm in Koolfontein Midvaal became the unexpected battleground for a biohazardous menace. Cows, unwittingly stumbling upon improperly disposed medical waste, triggered an urgent response from the community and health authorities. The hazardous items, not securely contained as mandated, pose an imminent threat to human health, the well-being of animals, and the fragile ecosystem.
