At the Candle Lighting Service held at the accident site on Pierneef Boulevard, between Hoogenhout and Andrew Murray Street in Kookrus, Meyerton, the community gathered to mourn the profound loss and honor the memories of the children. Councilor Erline Jordaan welcomed the attendees, expressing the heaviness in their hearts and acknowledging the void left by the absence of the vibrant young lives. Colonel Mohale, the Meyerton Station Commander, offered words of comfort and encouragement, extending condolences on behalf of the South African Police Service (SAPS).
