Swingin’ Las Vegas Coming to Montecasino Teatro

Local entertainment entrepreneurs Adam Howard and Belinda  are bringing the bright lights of Las Vegas to Johannesburg with their production "Swingin' Las Vegas", playing at Montecasino's Teatro from July 12-21.

The show will feature the 19-piece Johannesburg Big Band along with singers Craig Urbani, Corlea, Timothy Moloi and Harry Sideropoulos. According to Howard, "Swingin' Las Vegas" will recreate the thrill of Las Vegas' premier entertainment with songs made famous by stars like Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra and more.

"We've called it Swingin' Las Vegas and it's just to relive the thrill of Las Vegas - the stars that made Vegas, Vegas," said Howard. "We pay homage to Elvis and the Rat Pack era, but also include later acts like Michael Bublé who brought big band sounds to Las Vegas." Howard promises the production will be authentic Las Vegas entertainment. "It's not a tribute show - we're not trying to copy anybody. We're just bringing that swinging Vegas vibe to Johannesburg."

The Teatro at Montecasino will be a fitting venue, seating over 1,800 people. "It's called the Johannesburg Big Band, but it's really a big band for Johannesburg," said Howard. "We wanted to showcase these incredible local talents like Timothy Moloi, Harry Sideropoulos, Craig Urbani and Corlea." After the sold-out success of "Swingle Bells" last December, Howard is confident of the local audience's appetite for his brand of big band entertainment. "We're thrilled to be back at Teatro with the best in the business - the production values will be second to none."

Swingin' Las Vegas runs from July 12-21 at Montecasino's Teatro.
