Vanderbijlpark, Gauteng - Tragedy struck the local community this past weekend as 20-year-old Nico Dean Venter from Vanderbijlpark was found brutally murdered after being reported missing on Saturday, June 8th.
Venter's lifeless body was discovered near the construction site of the new bridge along Barrage Road (R42) in Vanderbijlpark. According to reports, the victim was walking home on foot when unknown assailant(s) robbed him of all his belongings before taking his life in a senseless act of violence.

Gauteng Traffic and Emergency urges commuters to reroute - From Vereeniging to Vanderbijlpark (and visa versa) rather follow this route:
-On the R59 from Vereeniging towards Vanderbijlpark, STAY on the R59 Highway towards Sasolburg/ Vaalpark. (DO NOT take the ramp towards Vanderbijlpark/Pick and Pay Bedworthpark).
-As you cross the Vaal river into the Free State, take the first off-ramp on the left towards the R716 (Ascot On Vaal road).
-At the intersection at the bottom, turn RIGHT onto the R716 (Ascot On Vaal road) direction Vanderbijlpark/Pick and Pay Bedworthpark. (When you turn left on the R716, you go direction Viljoensdrif/Country Butchery).
-After crossing the Vaal River again, into Gauteng, on the R716, at the 3 way stop, turn LEFT into Hendrik van Eck Blvd, towards North West University (NWU), towards Vanderbijlpar (If you go straight at the 3 way stop on Ascot On Vaal rd, you go towards Pick and Pay Bedworthpark).
